Welcome to Turf2Surf

Turf2Surf is an ambitious multi-year project that looks at the complex relationships between carbon, nitrogen and phosphorus as they travel through the atmosphere, through the soils and through our rivers to the sea.

It considers the impacts and influences of these elements – at a range of scales - on water quality, biodiversity and the uptake of carbon by the terrestrial environment.

By studying these relationships from source to sea we will better-understand their complexity and this will contribute to improvements in water management, climate regulation and provision of wildlife habitats in the future.
